The Conjurer

about

This track has a very emotional and poignant subject matter.
Chances are that you know someone who abuses his or her partner or children. They could be a relative, coworker, neighbour, someone you go to church with, even a child's teacher or coach.

Perhaps you want to dismiss that as an unlikely possibility or as someone else's problem. However, domestic abuse crosses all socioeconomic, demographic, and religious boundaries.

Outside of the secrecy of home, the vast majority of abusers are law-abiding citizens without criminal records. However, the trauma that they inflict can last a lifetime.

One way we can help spread awareness about the epidemic of domestic violence and child abuse is through music.

lyrics

The Conjurer -

I can see it in your eyes
Your brooding again
And there’s nothing I can do to stop this swell
The eye of the storm before it happens
Gonna drink down my comforter
And wait till you cast the spell

Now the potions poured in
And the words spill out
Watch the conjurer do his best till the pain gets too loud

The Elixir’s mixed well
And the truth comes to light
Watch the conjurer do his best
All you wanted was the fight

You’re gonna get what you came for
You’re ‘bout to get what you came for
Why don’t you take what you came for
Did you get what you came for?

I’m the broken vase lying shattered on the floor
At least the water from the roses
Gets to escape out through the door

Like the pull of the moon on the tides
I can feel it dragging me back to you
Here comes the next ride

Now the potions poured in
And the words spill out
Watch the conjurer do his best till the pain gets too loud

The Elixir’s mixed well
And the truth comes to light
Watch the conjurer do his best
All you wanted was the fight

You’re gonna get what you came for
You’re ‘bout to get what you came for
Why don’t you take what you came for
Did you get what you came for?

I hold your hand for one last time
I saw your beautiful smile
I took your final breath that day
That was the last time

Now the deed is done
No more words come out
Watch the conjurer doing nothing else
Seems he’s been knocked out

You’re gonna get what you came for
You’re ‘bout to get what you came for
Why don’t you take what you came for
Did you get what you came for?
